Blood Orange Crush

A blood orange whiskey cocktail with maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Whiskey
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 inch Piece of Blood Orange
  • 1 spring Mint
  • 1.5 ounces Ginger Beer

Instructions

  • Combine the blood orange, mint, and maple syrup in a shaker.
  • Crush the orange with a muddler or spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Add the whiskey and top the shaker with ice.
  • Shake for 10-15 seconds to combine the liquid.
  • Pour into a rocks glass over ice.
  • Add ginger beer to taste. 1.5 to 2 ounces of ginger beer is best. Too much ginger beer overwhelms the other flavors.
