Lynchburg Lemonade
Good ol’ lemonade is one of those thirst-quenching beverages that reminds me of summer. When I was a kid, my brother and I would set up a lemonade stand during the summer to try and earn a few dollars to spend at the arcade. As I got older, I found myself reaching for lemonade during the summer. From BBQs to afternoons on the golf course, lemonade always hit the spot. Eventually, I stumbled upon a bottle of Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade, which quickly became one of my favorite summer-time patio beverages to enjoy. My fond memories of the summertime past inspired me to create a Lynchburg Lemonade I could enjoy while tending the grill.
Although the first Lynchburg Lemonade I had was a malt liquor beverage in a bottle, I quickly discovered it could be made as a real cocktail, with real Jack Daniel’s. Lynchburg Lemonade requires just four simple ingredients. Whiskey, triple sec, lemon-lime soda, and lemon juice, which are typical staples of a well-stocked bar. The best whiskey to use for this cocktail is, of course, Jack Daniels.
If you don’t happen to have any Jack on your shelf, you’ll want to choose a bourbon or Tennessee whiskey that has notes of caramel and oak flavors to complement the lemon flavor. We preferred ours with Jack Daniels but found our version of Lynchburg Lemonade was very good using Dire Wolf Bourbon we had on the shelf. You can find out more about Dire Wolf Bourbon by checking out our review here.
Lynchburg Lemonade is a great summer cocktail that will have you reminiscing about your summer adventures. It is also an easy drink to make in a party-size batch to put in a pitcher for your guests to enjoy at your next summer BBQ.
