The old-fashioned is a classic whiskey cocktail served in most places you can get a cocktail. The resurgent popularity of whiskey over the past decade has inspired bartenders and mixologists to experiment with ways to spice up this simple cocktail. You can’t go wrong with a simple old-fashioned, but with a little creativity, you can create a cocktail that really shines.
Our cocktail this week can best be described as when an old-fashioned meets a whiskey sour. It is a tangy and sweet cocktail you are sure to enjoy, and you can play with measurements depending on how sweet or strong you like your old-fashioned. We used Spirit Hound Colorado Honey Whiskey for our base. We stumbled upon this gem on our way home from a camping trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you can’t find Spirit Hound near you, any honey whiskey will work as your base.
