The holiday season is officially here. Thanksgiving is this Thursday. That means it is time to focus on holiday cocktail recipes to get you through the winter season. This week, we crafted a Cran-Apple Mule, which is perfect for the Turkey Day Holiday.

The best part about the Cran-Apple Mule is that it is easy to make. It is a time-saving recipe, so you can focus your attention on preparing your perfect Thanksgiving Meal. You can also whip the Cran-Apple Mule up in a large batch if you choose. Then, your guests can simply pour from the pitcher and top with ginger beer to taste. The benefit is that you won’t have to make your guests another cocktail each time they need a refill.

There are a couple of different ways you can make a Cran-Apple Mule. If you are really looking to simplify, you can use cran-apple juice. If you want a richer apple-cider flavor, we recommend cranberry juice and apple cider. In our recipe, we went the cranberry juice and apple cider direction. We liked it best with 100% cranberry juice, but a cranberry juice cocktail is an acceptable substitute.

You can use your favorite whiskey for this cocktail. It doesn’t matter if you use bourbon or rye. Either choice is going to be an excellent choice. We used our go-to daily drinker, Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond. You can find out full review of Evan Williams BiB here.

All you need for garnish is something green and a few cranberries. Cranberries are usually found readily this time of year, so you shouldn’t have to look too hard. We chose to use mint for the garnish. Not only did the green contrast nicely with the red, but it also added an extra blast of flavor to the drink.

A final suggestion would be to use frozen cranberries. Frozen cranberries double as ice and garnish. Using the frozen cranberries to keep the Cran-Apple Mule cold ensures that your cocktail won’t get diluted.
