Falling Apple cocktail while enjoying football.

Fall is in the air, so we’ve been working on more autumnal-themed cocktails. One of my favorite autumn beverages is apple cider. After picking up a spiced apple cider from the store, we knew we wanted to feature it in a cocktail. It was perfect for this week’s new drink; the Falling Apple.

The Falling Apple cocktail is very simple to make. It combines only three ingredients. To make it, you’ll need whiskey, apple cider, and triple sec. We used spiced apple cider in our version. However, you can use regular apple cider if you prefer.

If you are short on time, but you’re really craving a fall cocktail, the Falling Apple is perfect. I can whip up a batch almost as quickly as I can decide on which bottle of whiskey to use. It has been my go-to time-saving cocktail this past week.

We decided to pair our Falling Apple with Yellowstone Select Bourbon. The apple cider really enhanced the citrus and cherry notes we picked out during our Yellowstone Select review. We were pleasantly surprised at how well the apple cider blended with the bourbon. Our choice to use Yellowstone Select was necessitated by our need to widdle down our collection. However, it turned out to be the perfect pairing.

The best thing about the Falling Apple is that it packs a punch. The triple sec combined with the whiskey makes this a high-proof cocktail, perfect as a nightcap after a long day. Check out the recipe and let us know what you think in the comments or on our Instagram.
